Employment Overview


The NTAC offers staff members a competitive wage, a bonus system, paid training and flexible hours that easily accommodates full-time day-time students who are attending high school, college/university or are working full-time during the day.
Our swimming lessons are held from September to May, Monday to Thursday evenings with shifts starting at 5:45 in the evenings and Saturday mornings at 9:15 a.m.  Please refer to the Children’s Swim Classes schedule for details of class times and descriptions.

We recruit for the following three positions:

 
Assistant Instructor


Minimum Age: 15 years
Minimum Qualifications: Current L.S.S. Bronze Cross and Red Cross Assistant Water Safety Instructor (AWSI) or L.S.S. Assistant Instructor certificates.  Red Cross AWSI strongly preferred.


Instructor


Minimum Age: 16 years
Minimum Qualifications: L.S.S. Bronze Cross or higher, and Instructor (Red Cross and/or L.S.S.) certification.  Red Cross WSI strongly preferred.


Lifeguard


Minimum Age: 16 years
Minimum Qualifications: Current National Lifeguard Service (N.L.S.) certification, and Standard First Aid & C.P.R. "C” from the Lifesaving Society, Red Cross, St John Ambulance or Canadian Ski Patrol.


Please note that as a condition of employment, all qualifications must be current.  All aquatic awards (Bronze Cross, NLS, and Instructor awards), remain current for 2 years only.  Standard First Aid & CPR C is current for 3 years.  Certificates must be recertified as they expire.
